HOW WILL ACADEMY ROOFING HELP ME CHOOSE THE RIGHT
MATERIALS FOR MY ROOF? Our estimators will be happy to meet
with you to choose the right materials for your roof. We have a design center
located at our office in Aurora where you can view different types of shingles,
and receive up-to-date information and literature on various brands of roofing
materials. We will deliver brochures and sample boards to your home or office
if necessary. We have links to several roofing manufacturer's websites where you can obtain
additional information about specific products. We will provide you with
addresses where we have installed products that may interest you. If you are
installing a standard weight tile roof, building codes require that your home
be inspected by an engineer to determine if your home can withstand the load of
a tile roof. We will provide you the name and address of an engineer we have
used in the past for this service.

HOW MUCH WILL THE ROOFING PROCESS DISRUPT MY
NORMAL ROUTINE? While it is true that the roofing process is
disruptive, we work hard to minimize the impact on you and your family. But for
several days, your home does become a construction jobsite. Before we begin
work on your home, we will send you a letter outlining the things you can do to
prepare for our arrival. You will also receive the name and phone number of
your project manager in case you have any questions.

IS IT NECESSARY TO TEAR OFF MY OLD
ROOF? In most cities in the metro area, you are allowed to have up to
three layers of roofing on your home. We consider it best practice to tear off
all old roofing if possible so we can inspect the decking underneath. Research
has shown that fewer layers of roofing make a roof more resistant to hail
damage. If you elect not to do this, it is acceptable to roof over the previous
roof as long as the new roof is not a 4th layer. Depending on what materials
were used in the old layers of roofing, it is sometimes impossible to install a
new roof over the old. The appearance would be less than acceptable. It is also
possible to tear off one layer without tearing off all layers below
it.

DOES ACADEMY ROOFING STAPLE OR NAIL ITS
ROOFS? We nail all composition or asphalt roofing as well as
our concrete and clay tile. All wood shake roofs are stapled.

WILL ACADEMY ROOFING SUBCONTRACT MY JOB?
Typically we do not subcontract our work. Our roofers and
gutter installers are employed by our company, covered by our insurance, drive
company vehicles, wear company uniforms and abide by strictly enforced work
hours. This sets us apart from many other roofing companies who pay their
employees on a piecework basis. We feel our system allows us the ability to
monitor and manage your job in a more efficient way.

WHAT ARE ACADEMY ROOFING'S PAYMENT TERMS?
We do not ask for any prepayment. You will be billed upon
completion of your job. Your payment is due upon receipt of your invoice. If
you are waiting for an inspection from the city or county, it will be
acceptable to hold 10% of the amount due until your home passes final
inspection. Financing is not available through our company.
